Bryan Mbeumo has revealed the details of his start to life in Manchester, and how similar new manager, Ruben Amorim, and departed Thomas Frank are.
Bryan Mbeumo signed for Manchester United this summer for £65 million from fellow Premier League side Brentford, aiming to provide aid for a lackluster Reds attack.
The Cameroonian has had a tricky start to his time in Manchester. After a few disappointing results, the club recorded its first victory this year, in which Mbeumo scored his first league goal.
Along with Matheus Cunha, Mbeumo has revitalised a dying United attack, which was evident in the first game against Arsenal.
Now the 25-year-old has revealed in an article with Manchester Evening News the details involved in his start at the club.
Mbeumo speaks about United move
A common theme across the recent signings under Ruben Amorim is the appreciation for the size of the club, which Mbeumo has emphasised.
“I was expecting a lot from here because it’s a big club. It’s a big everything. I’m really happy with what happened to me here, the teammates, the staff, everyone in Carrington are lovely people.”
Amorim will be looking for an improvement from last season, and record more wins soon. Despite a polarising start, the club seems to be heading in the right direction with Mbeumo’s signing proving vital.
“You really want to come in and work here every day, which is really good. When I first arrive somewhere, I don’t really know, I don’t like to be loud or show myself a lot [be outgoing].”
The Cameroonian quickly built a rapport with his new teammates and has been welcomed into the club by the staff and fans, which has helped his positive start.
Mbeumo also highlighted one main similarity between Amorim and his former boss Thomas Frank, “I think I’ve found some similarities because he always tries to do it in a fun way, and I think this is really important because it makes your life more enjoyable,” he said.
Casemiro and Amorim praise Mbeumo
Senior figure Casemiro has provided insight into Mbeumo’s quick start to life in Manchester, and commented on the attacker’s apparent ability.
“We know how it is to play against him and I think he’s adapted. You can tell he’s a very good player. We had to fight very hard when we played against him. So, his quality is no surprise for us.”

“It was impressive, the way he (Mbeumo) stretched the team, the quality he has in the first touch,” Amorim commented after the Grimsby game, in which Mbeumo scored his first goal. The Portuguese manager clearly has an abundance of faith in his new attacker.
While struggles continue, fans remain optimistic ahead of a long 2025/26 season, and Mbeumo epitomises the changing tide for United.
