“Really excited…” – Three Manchester United players rave about Bryan Mbeumo after Leeds clash

Manchester United’s squad are clearly looking forward to welcoming Bryan Mbeumo to the club from Brentford this summer.

Earlier this week, Manchester United finally reached an agreement to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a deal worth up to £71 million.

It has been a move that the Reds have been chasing since the beginning of the transfer window and Mbeumo is set to officially sign in time for the beginning of the US tour.

The Cameroon international scored 20 goals in the Premier League last term and is expected to bring extra firepower in the final third alongside fellow newcomer Matheus Cunha.

Mbeumo just missed out on playing in the opening friendly against Leeds and it is clear his new teammates are eager to see him at work soon.

Three United players rave about Mbeumo

Leny Yoro was one of the first United players to react to the news following on from the game, joking that the transfer saga was ‘long’, a sentiment many fans will agree with.

“Bryan is a really good player, really happy he’s come to the club. That’s my guy I’m waiting for him now,” Yoro told Unitedno. “That was long, that was long but he is here now and I’m really happy.”

The Frenchman wasn’t the only player to speak to the media about the signing, with Amad also expressing his excitement to work with a player ‘who can bring something to the final third’.

Amad said: “Of course I’m looking forward to playing with him. We need good players in the team who can bring something to the final third.

“We are really excited to have them [Mbeumo and Cunha] in the team and I hope that together we can give something to the fans at the end of the season because they deserve it.”

While André Onana was not on the trip to Sweden due to an injury, he is also said to be ‘so happy’ that his Cameroon teammate has decided to join him at Old Trafford after he advised him to make the move.

Mbeumo arrives in time for United tour

Mbeumo was reportedly at Old Trafford while United were facing off against Leeds in Stockholm and he will be officially announced before Tuesday, when the team head of to the United States.

His debut is set for the 27 July against West Ham in New Jersey, the club’s first game of the tour, and fans will be excited to see what he brings.

Cunha’s levels were extremely obvious within his first 45 minutes of pre-season action and it is likely that Mbeumo has a similar impact.

Both players are going to really improve United’s attack, which was Amorim’s major problem at Old Trafford last term.
