Rasmus Højlund’s PSG news shows why he suits Manchester United and Erik ten Hag
Rasmus Højlund has been gathering interest from multiple clubs this summer, with Erik ten Hag keen on signing the striker this summer.
Erik ten Hag is looking to add a central source of goals to his front line this summer and has settled on wanting to add Rasmus Højlund to his Manchester United ranks.
Although the club originally wanted Harry Kane, after Tottenham Hotspur demanded too much money, they dropped their interest and are not currently expected to go back in for the England captain again this summer.

Højlund has not only attracted interest from United but also from French outfit and European giants Paris St Germain, who have been in contact with the striker.
According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, United have agreed on terms with the Dane, and although PSG have actually offered Højlund a higher wage than their English transfer rivals, the striker has still chosen to move to Manchester.
In recent seasons, it has felt like some United players have not been playing for United because they want to, but because of other benefits such as high wages or a lack of other options – with names such as Angel Di Maria coming to mind.
Højlund, however, has openly admitted that he is a boyhood Manchester United fan, and his desire to still pick United and the Premier League despite higher wages being offered from elsewhere shows exactly where his head is at – he wants United over anything.
Erik ten Hag’s best players are all players who are at United for more than just monetary matters – Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Raphaël Varane, to name a few.
All part of the Dutchman’s core, this United spine is in need of a striker. And since all these players have a deep despite to play for United in common, Højlund fits right into that.
The fact that Højlund desires to play for United in spite of bigger offers elsewhere will help him fit straight into a team full of players who possess a similar mentality – and this will hopefully help him settle straight into his new role, should United and Atalanta agree a fee.
