Rasmus Højlund reveals key trait he “tries to learn” from Manchester United teammate who’s leaving
Rasmus Hojlujnd has revealed a key trait that he ‘tries to learn’ from one Manchester United teammate who will be leaving the club.
Rasmus Højlund has had ups and downs since joining Manchester United in the summer of 2023.
The Danish striker scored 16 goals last season but has yet to hit form this term, netting just twice in 13 appearances.
Ruben Amorim will be hoping to discover the obvious talent the 21-year-old has and get him back in goalscoring form.
One thing that Højlund needs to improve is his consistency, even outside of goalscoring. Sometimes he impacts the game outside of goals like with his hold-up and running channels.
Other times, however, the no.9 can almost be invisible throughout games. This has partly been due to the playstyle under Erik ten Hag.
The young forward has addressed that he wants to get better consistency in his game – mentioning Christian Eriksen as a player he is aiming to learn from.
“I think, on the pitch, we have seen for a long time now that he keeps a very consistent high level,” Hojlund told club media this week about his teammate for club and country.
“I haven’t seen many bad games from Christian. He always seems to be very consistent, have a good level, and I think that is a quality in itself. That is what has kept him at the top level for so long, and that’s what I try to learn from him.
“[Eriksen is always] very good and focused. Off the pitch, he takes very good care of his family and his companions.”
Højlund may not get much longer to learn from Eriksen at club level, with the Danish midfielder’s contract at Old Trafford running out at the end of the season.
Fabrizio Romano is one of many reporters to claim that this will be the 32-year-old’s final season at the club, and that he will depart on a free deal next year.
Eriksen joined the club in the summer of 2022 on a free deal and has since made 86 appearances for the first-team.
