Rasmus Højlund is “the future” of Manchester United, explains ex-Old Trafford player
Rasmus Højlund signed for Manchester United for a fee of just over £70 million in the summer and is currently the club’s top scorer this season under Erik ten Hag.
Rasmus Højlund has seven goals across all competitions this season, with the player scoring five in the Champions League and another two in the Premier League.
Much has been made of his start at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag after Højlund failed to score in his first 14 games in the league, but he has shown across the first five months that he has the talent to succeed at Old Trafford.

Some have suggested that United should sign a more experienced striker on a short-term deal, such as Karim Benzema, but former United defender Paul Parker believes that due to Højlund’s talent, making such a move would be a mistake.
“It is likely that some fans would take him (Benzema), but it would be a massive mistake,” Parker told SpilXperten.
“Højlund is the future, and it would be a big mistake to bring in Benzema, who is not nearly as hungry as Højlund.

“I cannot describe his (Benzema’s) career in words. There are no words big or good enough to describe what he has achieved, but he is finished at the top level.
“But It would just be making the same mistake as before when they brought in Ibrahimovic, Cavani, and Ronaldo. It would be yet another step backwards.”
