Rasmus Højlund could break Premier League record against Luton Town
Rasmus Højlund has been on fire at Manchester United recently and has the opportunity to break a Premier League record when Erik ten Hag’s men visit Luton Town on Sunday.
Rasmus Højlund has scored one goal in each of his last five Premier League matches with Manchester United, making him the youngest player to do so since Nicolas Anelka in 1998.
After a slow start to life at Old Trafford, the £72 million signing has started to fire consistently under Erik ten Hag, currently sitting as the club’s top scorer with 11 goals across all competitions.

He has been a big part of the recent mini-revival at United in 2024, with the club having won five and drawn the other of their six games so far this calendar year.
And now, with another fixture on the horizon, Højlund could break a Premier League record on the coming weekend.
According to Opta, a goal in the match against Luton would see Højlund become the youngest-ever player to score in six consecutive games – the current holder of the record is Newcastle United’s Joe Willock (21 years and 272 days).

Højlund’s scoring streak has certainly piqued the attention of many in England and around Europe, with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez even instructing his head scout to keep tabs on the player, if reports are to be believed.
Højlund has formed a strong partnership with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford up front, and Ten Hag will be hoping that his new-found front three will be able to pull United back into contention for Champions League qualification places.
