“Pushing for places…” – Full details as Ruben Amorim left impressed by Manchester United starlet in training

Ruben Amorim has been impressed by some of Manchester United’s youngsters during first-team training, with some of United’s wonder-kids even ‘pushing for places’.

Manchester United have been in impressive form in the Premier League recently, winning all of their last three fixtures against the likes of Sunderland, Liverpool, and now Brighton.

The Reds secured a 4-2 victory over Brighton at the weekend, thanks to goals from new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, as well as a deflected shot from Casemiro.

Ruben Amorim’s side are now looking far more competitive and optimistic in the league, and are starting to reap the rewards of their summer expenditure.

All of United’s new additions are looking to be worth their weight in gold at the moment, but as well as this, some of United’s youngsters are trying to work their way into Amorim’s plans.

United youngster stands out

As reported by GiveMeSport, sources close to United’s training ground say that Amorim has been impressed by the sharpness and confidence of the young players in training.

The report states that, “Training’s got a real spark to it again, the young lads aren’t there just to make up the numbers – Amorim wants them learning the standards and pushing for places.”

One player who has been standing out consistently is the young winger Shea Lacey, who has ‘been tearing it up’ with his creativity and directness.

The 18-year-old’s form and flair has not gone unnoticed by Amorim, who is understood to be monitoring the development of the wonder-kid very closely.

United back to their roots

United have always been a club with a rich heritage of developing and promoting youth talent from their academy at Carrington to their first team.

Although they have not done so as frequently in recent years, it now appears that the club may be starting to reconnect with its roots, as it has a budding crop of young stars on the horizon.

Due to an injury crisis last season, many United youngsters were thrown into the deep end in the first team, although chances for the youngsters have been few and far between this season.

With positive results taking place on the pitch for the Red Devils, they will hopefully find themselves in a position soon where they are able to take some risks regarding their youth talents.
