Marcus Rashford and PSG has been a dance lasting a few seasons, with the Paris club’s interest in the young winger well-documented over the last few seasons.

During the summer, PSG were keen to sign Rashford to bolster their attacking line. With Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr, and Lionel Messi in their ranks, Rashford was seen as a critical addition in order to throw themselves into the favourite position for the Champions League trophy.

However, as the summer drew to a close, reports emerged that PSG were worried that Rashford, despite encouraging conversations between the player and club, was using the interest in order to leverage Manchester United into offering the youth academy product a new deal.

Speaking to Sky Sports, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has confirmed their interest in the 25-year-old and declared that they will try to once again secure his services.

“He’s another player that is really amazing,” Al-Khelaifi said. “And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.”

Marcus Rashford’s current Manchester United contract expires this summer, and as he is over the age of 23, he is allowed to openly speak to any club about signing a pre-contractual agreement to join as a free agent in the summer from the 1st of January.

“We’re not hiding it [interest in Marcus Rashford], we spoke before and… interest,” he continued. “But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe, summer, why not?

“Today if he’s [Rashford] a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we’re interested we will talk to him.”

Only time will tell what Marcus Rashford will do in the coming window – but one thing is for sure: Erik ten Hag will not want to see him go.

Speaking in the summer during the links between Rashford and PSG, the Dutch manager said: “he knows I love him, he knows I want him to be here, so I will tell him that again.”

Rashford himself has admitted his enjoyment of playing for Erik ten Hag, saying to Sky Sports back in August: “I am enjoying it [under Erik ten Hag] and this manager definitely wants you to enjoy it and work hard as a unit. I have always said that when you work hard as a unit it is ten times more enjoyable.”
