Premier League player hails ‘unbelievable’ Man Utd star, he is likely to start vs Manchester City

A Premier League player has praised one of Manchester United’s ‘unbelievable’ stars. He is likely to start for Ruben Amorim’s side against Manchester City on Sunday.

With three games under the belt of the 2025/26 Premier League season, one key question has been asked of Manchester United, who currently sit in ninth.

Ruben Amorim’s side have earned a slightly underwhelming four points from their first three games, despite having such an impressive pre-season in the United States.

The Reds addressed their attacking and goalkeeping concerns through the acquisitions of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens, although a new dilemma has now arisen.

United’s midfield department has come into question, with many wondering what Amorim’s best pairing is, although one of the Portuguese tactician’s options has now been hailed as ‘unbelievable’ during the international break.

Joao Gomes sings Casemiro praise

Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes has sung the praises of Casemiro, even putting him in his dream five-a-side lineup of Brazilians.

In a video on Wolves’ TikTok page, the midfielder described Casemiro as ‘unbelievable’.

The 33-year-old was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia over the summer, but this never materialised, and at least for this season, he remains a Red Devil.

Many have criticised the United man in recent seasons, but despite potentially being past his best, he has started the season in a strong manner.

Amorim’s midfield conundrum vs City

With captain Bruno Fernandes almost guaranteed a starting spot in the midfield against local rivals Manchester City on Sunday, the question then becomes, who partners him?

Casemiro has partnered Fernandes in all three league fixtures so far, which has kept Kobbie Mainoo out of the starting XI, much to the 20-year-old’s frustration.

Amorim will likely keep his midfield unchanged for the fixture at the Etihad at the weekend, especially considering his side’s last-minute triumph against Burnley in their last fixture.

Once United’s tough early fixtures are out of the way, we may see changes and experimentation in the midfield pivot. However, for now, it is probably best to expect Amorim to stick to what he knows.
