In the win against Fulham, debutants Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui all made notable contributions and impressed the supporters.
While the status of whether these players will start is not yet confirmed, the Premier League have released the match officials list for the forthcoming tie.
Match referees
Craig Pawson (pictured below) will referee on Saturday at the Amex Stadium. Pawson officiated two Manchester United fixtures last season, including this exact fixture on match week 38, in which United ran out 2-0 victors thanks to goals from Diogo Dalot and Rasmus Højlund.
He was also the referee of the club’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Brighton on penalities in 2022/23.
Pawson was also the officiant for the club’s fantastic win over Aston Villa during the final game of 2023 at Old Trafford, where Rasmus Højlund scored his first Premier League goal to secure a 3-2 comeback win after a second-half brace from Alejandro Garnacho levelled the score.
Marc Perry and Nick Hopton will be on the sidelines, acting as Pawson’ assistant referees during the game. Bobby Madley has been handed the fourth official job, separating Erik ten Hag and new Seagulls boss Fabian Hürzeler on Saturday afternoon.
Chris Kavanagh has been appointed the role of video assistant referee. Sian Massey-Ellis will act as assistant VAR.
