“Brilliant” – Premier League forward praises Man United star & tells Erik ten Hag to make decision
One Premier League forward has praised a Manchester United star and told Erik ten Hag to make a key decision.
United have had a disappointing campaign this term, currently sitting sixth in the Premier League and having been knocked out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup.
However, there have been some positives this term, particularly with the youth integration into Erik ten Hag’s first team.
Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have been two standout performers for the Reds, with both academy players offering excitement for the future at Old Trafford.
Another young player who has come into the team this year is Willy Kambwala, who has made two Premier League starts, with his latest being against Liverpool in the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
The French defender joined United in the summer of 2020. Multiple injury issues have stunted his development, but he emerged as an option for United’s first-team squad this season and has taken his few opportunities brilliantly.
His performance against Liverpool on Sunday was one that was extremely promising with the youngster handling Darwin Nunez expertly throughout the game.
Kambwala has also received praise from Luton Town forward Andros Townsend, who believes that the 19-year-old is exactly the kind of profile that Ten Hag needs in his team.
“With Man United, they’ve bought a lot of attackers under Ten Hag,” the Luton Town frontman began on The Monday Night Club. “Have they really got the personnel in defence that they want?
“The young guy, the 19-year-old [Kambwala], I can’t remember his name. He was brilliant. He was exactly the profile that I think Ten Hag’s looking for. It was the first time I saw him yesterday. He was very good.”
Kambwala will likely get further chances to impress in the coming weeks after Ten Hag confirmed that the current injured centre-backs will not be returning at short notice.
