Premier League confirm referees for Sheffield United vs Manchester United

Manchester United will be looking to kick on in the Premier League after multiple poor performances under Erik ten Hag so far in the Premier League this season.

Manchester United have lost four of their opening eight Premier League fixtures so far this campaign, sitting 10th in the table and losing their opening two Champions League ties.

It is a position that has caused significant trouble at Old Trafford, with the squad also going through an injury crisis, with Casemiro just the latest in the line of absentees after the Brazilian suffered an ankle issue while away with the Canary Squad.

United have had a number of controversial decisions going against them during 2023/24, with referees making mistakes uniformly across the league so far this season.

With this in mind, the Premier League have confirmed who will be taking charge of Sheffield United vs Manchester United on Saturday evening.

Confirmed match officials

The referee for the Bramall Lane tie will be Michael Oliver. He has refereed Manchester United once so far this season – the 2-0 loss against Tottenham Hotspur during match-week 2 of the Premier League season.

On the sidelines will be Lee Betts and Dan Cook, who will act as assistant referees for Oliver during the game. The fourth official job has been handed to Andy Davies, who will separate Erik ten Hag and Paul Heckingbottom on Saturday.

The Video Assistant Referee job has been handed to John Brooks, who will be assisted by Akil Howson.
