Premier League confirm match referee & officials for Manchester United clash vs Nottingham Forest
The Premier League have confirmed the match officials list for Manchester United’s away clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Erik ten Hag’s side will be playing their final game of 2023 and need three points to build on a positive display against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
The Reds turned the match around against Unai Emery’s side and scored three times after going 2-0 down in the first half. Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund provided the goals.
United have since moved down to seventh place in the league after West Ham’s shock 2-0 win against Arsenal. They will be aiming for a win to climb closer to the top four ahead of an important 2024.
Last time out against Forest, they provided another impressive comeback win at Old Trafford after they found themselves 2-0 down within five minutes of kick-off.
For this clash, the match officials have been revealed and they could end up playing a key role in another Premier League game.
Match Referee
Tim Robinson will take charge of the game at the City Ground. The referee is taking part in his first full Premier League campaign after impressing in the Championship.
This will be the first time he leads a game involving United this term. However, he did referee the Carabao Cup clash between The Reds and Luton Town in September 2020, which ended in a 3-0 win for The Reds.
Assistant referees
The two assistant referees flanking Robinson will be Lee Betts and Akil Howson.
Video Assistant Referees (VAR)
Michael Salisbury will be in the VAR position on the day, in a role that has become just as important as the on-field referee. His assistant will be Richard West.
Fourth Official
Experienced official Anthony Taylor will be in between the managers on the touchline at the City Ground on Saturday.
