Premier League confirm Man Utd vs Everton referee as Rúben Amorim star at risk of ban

The Premier League have confirmed who will officiate Manchester United’s Old Trafford fixture against Everton on Monday evening.

As the November international break comes to an end, Rúben Amorim is now preparing Manchester United for their Monday night meeting with Everton.

United are placed seventh in the Premier League, level on points with Tottenham in fifth, just one point short of Sunderland in fourth, and two behind third-placed Chelsea.

After a difficult start to the season, United have now gone five matches without defeat and have been beaten only once in their last seven, giving them momentum as they push up the table.

Everton currently occupy 13th place and have taken two wins, two losses, and a draw from their previous five fixtures. Their 2–0 defeat to Fulham before the break has not dampened confidence within David Moyes’ squad as they approach the trip to Old Trafford.

United vs Everton officials confirmed

Tony Harrington (pictured above) will be the referee on Monday evening in Manchester. Harrington has officiated five Premier League fixtures this season, two in the Championship, and one in the Carabao Cup.

Harrington has already officiated United once this campaign, in a fateful day that Amorim would like to forget soon – the dramatic 2-2 draw against Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup, where United went on to lose 14-13 on penalties.

This season, Harrington issued 18 yellow cards in the Premier League and 28 across all competitions. He has issued just one red card this season and awarded one penalty, which came in a Premier League tie between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley.

During the game, Nick Hopton and Craig Taylor will serve as Harrington’s assistant referees. Anthony Taylor will be the fourth official on Monday evening, separating Amorim and former United boss Moyes.

Paul Howard has been appointed as the Video Assistant Referee. Sian Massey-Ellis will act as assistant VAR.

Dorgu one yellow card away from ban

With 11 league fixtures down so far this season, it is time for some players to start receiving one-match bans for yellow card accumulation.

Casemiro has already been handed a one-match ban this season after his red card against Chelsea in September. Still, it’s Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu who’s currently at risk, with four to his name already this season.

If the Danish international, who scored against Scotland on Tuesday evening, is handed another yellow before the end of gameweek 19, he will serve a one-game ban.

Casemiro is the next highest in the United tally with three yellow cards to his name, while Bruno Fernandes has two.

Only two other players at Old Trafford have received yellow cards this season – Benjamin Šeško and Noussair Mazraoui – showing that, for the most part, United have been very disciplined.
