Manchester United will need to be disciplined as Rúben Amorim’s Reds travel to face Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester United are set for their first trip on the road in the 2025/26 season as Rúben Amorim’s men travel to West London to meet Fulham.
Their opening league fixture brought a narrow 1-0 defeat to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Old Trafford, but there were several positives to take away.
Debutants Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo both stood out with strong performances, while Benjamin Šeško also made his first appearance for the club.
Amorim will now be eager for his side to build on that showing and claim their first three points of the campaign.
Premier League confirm Fulham vs United officials
Chris Kavanagh (pictured above) will be the referee on Sunday afternoon in London. Kavanagh officiated 25 Premier League fixtures last season, nine in UEFA competitions, and four across other domestic competitions.
Kavanagh officiated United three times last season. The first was a 0-3 loss against Tottenham, a 4-1 loss against Newcastle, and a 1-0 loss away against Chelsea.
Last season, Kavanagh issued 113 yellow cards in the Premier League and 205 across all competitions. He issued two red cards last season, via two yellow cards and six straight red cards. He has awarded six penalties, three of which came in the Premier League.
During the game, Dan Cook and Neil Davies. will serve as Kavanagh’s assistant referees. Rob Jones will be the fourth official on Sunday afternoon, separating Amorim and Marco Silva.
Darren England has been appointed as the Video Assistant Referee. Akil Howson will act as assistant VAR.
United must build on their momentum
Despite the defeat to Arsenal, Amorim’s side arguably came away with more positives, but United must now turn that into sustained momentum.

The opener was an energetic, blow-for-blow contest; Fulham away will be different. This time, it’s on United to dictate the tempo and create the atmosphere needed to succeed.
Fulham are likely to sit deep and counter, a scenario United regularly struggled with last season.
Breaking down low blocks has been a long-standing issue, but with Šeško, Cunha, and Mbeumo now at Amorim’s disposal, there is genuine hope United can finally establish themselves as a more dominant side.
