Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-0 Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League)

Manchester United won 2-0 against Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

It was Manchester United who started the game as the better side, with Bryan Mbeumo getting an early chance, but Tottenham Hotspur then took some control.

Michael Carrick’s team defended well and regained some momentum and then Cristian Romero produced a horrible challenge on Casemiro which earned him a red card.

Soon afterwards, a brilliant corner-kick routine saw Mbeumo open the scoring with a well-placed shot into the bottom corner, giving United the lead before the break against the 10 men.

The second half played out as expected, with United dominating possession and Spurs defending deep. Two offside goals were scored before Bruno Fernandes eventually doubled the lead.

United’s club captain met a fierce cross from Diogo Dalot brilliantly and guided the ball into the bottom corner to secure the three points for the hosts.

The United player ratings can be read below.

United player ratings vs Spurs

Senne Lammens – 7/10

Done well to keep his eye on a flick from a cross early on, didn’t have to deal with much else.

Diogo Dalot – 8.5/10

His best game of the season. Looks so much better as a fullback and delivered a brilliant cross for the second goal.

Harry Maguire – 7/10

Strong at the back in duels all game. Deserved to win a penalty.

Lisandro Martínez – 7/10

Amazing on the ball all game. One mistake late on but defended well afterwards.

Luke Shaw – 7/10

He probably should have scored his first of the season with the chances he had, but a solid game overall.

Casemiro – 8.5/10

Almost scored an absolute screamer. Some good passes. Fortunately able to continue after being on the wrong end of a horror challenge. Won everything until he was applauded off the pitch as a late substitution.

Kobbie Mainoo – 8.5/10

Some really bright touches with the ball throughout, including the brilliant flick to assist Mbeumo. Kept things simple for the team.

Amad – 8/10

Worked tirelessly for the Reds. Set up a couple of good chances and also scored a goal that was just offside.

Bruno Fernandes – 8.5/10

Dangerous all game and scored a brilliant goal.

Matheus Cunha – 8/10

Very good display and unfortunate to not score, came off midway through the second half.

Bryan Mbeumo – 8/10

An early chance smashed just wide of goal. Made no mistake from the corner routine to score his 10th of the season. Solid all game.
