Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-1 Rangers (Europa League)

Manchester United won 2-1 against Rangers in their Old Trafford clash in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Ruben Amorim’s side had a mixed game which showed their current confidence levels at the moment but managed to secure an important three points in the Europa League.

It was 0-0 going into the break after Matthijs de Ligt had a goal ruled out for an incredibly soft foul inside the box.

The Reds opened the scoring after Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland punched the ball into his own net after a Christian Eriksen corner.

It seemed like United had dropped two points when Cyriel Dessers scored an equaliser in the 88th minute of the game.

However, Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martínez linked up four minutes later to score the all-important winner for a team that were desperate to get over the line in any way they could.

Altay Bayındır – 7/10

A couple of important saves throughout the game. Solid.

Leny Yoro – 6.5/10

A decent display. Looked to have an issue when he came off.

Matthijs de Ligt – 6/10

His goal should have stood. Not very adventurous in his passing.

Lisandro Martínez – 8/10

A good game from the Argentine and a wonderful assist for the winner.

Amad – 6.5/10

Some real moments of quality throughout, but it didn’t quite work with the final pass or shot.

Bruno Fernandes – 8/10

Some really good passes, didn’t stop running and stepped up for the team in a struggling moment. Match winner.

Toby Collyer – 7.5/10

A really good display, kept things simple and played well out of possession too.

Diogo Dalot – 6/10

Just doesn’t offer the one on one threat in the final third but had some good moments on the ball and intercepting. Moved into the back three in the second half.

Christian Eriksen – 7/10

Playing further forward and it seems to suit him more. Some good touches and passes.

Alejandro Garnacho – 7.5/10

So dangerous on the transition but just couldn’t get the final finish.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5/10

A couple nice touches but not involved enough.
