Manchester United went 2-0 down in the quickest time in their Premier League history against Nottingham Forest but came back to win 3-2.

At half-time, Erik ten Hag’s side were 2-1 down despite being the dominant team. United were completely switched off at the beginning and subsequently punished by going 2-0 down within four minutes.

However, Eriksen’s first-half goal ensured the game didn’t get away from The Reds and then second-half strikes from Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes secured all three points.

The player ratings for United can be read below.

Andre Onana – 6/10

Poor for the opening goal, couldn’t do anything for the second. Not much else to do other than one impressive save.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7.5/10

Lost his man for the second goal. Found himself in two brilliant crossing positions in the first half but couldn’t pick out a man in the box to make them count. Defensively sound for the most part and in possession.

Raphael Varane – 7/10

Brilliant in defensive transition to ensure United did not concede a third. Replaced at half-time, hopefully nothing serious.

Lisandro Martinez – 7/10

Solid performance throughout.

Diogo Dalot – 7/10

Good coming inside. Helped United control proceedings after a crazy start to the game.

Casemiro – 7/10

Poor first half but much improved in the second. Better decision-making in and out of possession and in the box to score the equaliser.

Christian Eriksen – 7/10

Scored the first goal with a smart flick. Decent otherwise throughout.

Bruno Fernandes – 9/10

Brilliant assist for Casemiro and a solid performance overall. His impressive run in behind led to a red card for the visitors and then he scored the all-important penalty to take the lead. Essentially dragged his team through the game.

Antony – 7.5/10

One of the better players on the pitch. Looked dangerous in the second half and much better in advanced areas.

Anthony Martial – 5/10

Not too much to go off. Perhaps should’ve been in better positions when the ball was played into the box.

Marcus Rashford – 8/10

A poor opening half despite a moment of magic to create United’s goal. Much better in the second and provided the pass-before-the-pass to equalise and then another run on the outside to win the penalty.

Substitutes

Victor Lindelof – 7/10

Solid coming into the defence.

Jadon Sancho – 7/10

Looked really sharp again. Decent cameo.

Scott McTominay – 6/10

A few decent runs.
