Player Ratings: Manchester United 3-2 Ipswich Town (Premier League)
Manchester United won 3-2 against Ipswich Town in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford despite being reduced to 10 men.
Ruben Amorim’s side conceded a ridiculous goal early in the first half after a complete mix up between André Onana and Patrick Dorgu.
Bruno Fernandes pushed Manchester United into the lead after he delivered two great set-pieces which were converted.
However, after Dorgu was shown a red card after a VAR review, United conceded a poor goal just before the interval.
Harry Maguire scored a great header – once again from a Fernandes set-piece – to restore United’s lead early in the second half.
Amorim’s men then showed great determination to keep Ipswich out for the remainder of the game, despite having a man less.
In the context, it was an important three points for United and the player ratings from the clash can be read below.
United player ratings vs Ipswich
André Onana – 4/10
Made a complete mess of the opening goal and wasn’t much better for the second.
Matthijs de Ligt – 8/10
Great work to score United’s first goal. He was too weak for Ipswich’s second but defended well in the second half.
Harry Maguire – 8/10
A solid overall performance and scored the decisive header.
Leny Yoro – 8/10
He is needed in the defence as he’s the only defender capable of consistently stepping out and applying extra pressure ahead of the backline. A great performance.
Diogo Dalot – 5/10
He continues to make poor mistakes on the ball, with some really questionable passes, but on the other hand, he didn’t stop running for United.
Manuel Ugarte – 7/10
A solid performance in the middle.
Bruno Fernandes – 9/10
The Man of the Match and United’s saviour once again. Created all three goals with some great set-pieces and never stopped running. He looked exhausted after a lung-busting run forwards in the latter stages but still continued to work tirelessly.
Patrick Dorgu – 3/10
Needed to be more aware for the opener but got no help from Onana. Terrible tackle to be sent off.
Joshua Zirkzee – 7.5/10
A very good display. He looks much sharper with the ball.
Alejandro Garnacho – 5/10
Unfortunate to be subbed off due to the red card.
Rasmus Højlund – 5/10
Subbed off early after another anonymous performance.
Substitutes
Noussair Mazraoui – 7/10
Casemiro – 7/10
Victor Lindelöf – N/A
Christian Eriksen – N/A
