Manchester United lost 3-2 against Galatasaray in the Champions League after Casemiro was sent off late on in the game.

United’s no.11 Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring with an excellent header after a strong opening from United, but Erik ten Hag’s side were only in the lead for six minutes.

Again, in the second half, Hojlund scored but the visitors equalised just four minutes afterwards.

Then, a terrible mistake from Andre Onana led to Casemiro being sent off and a penalty being awarded. It was missed by Icardi but he scored from open play only minutes later to secure the win.

The United player ratings can be read below.

Andre Onana – 1/10

Terrible performance. Awful mistake which led to Casemiro’s red card and a penalty. Then went down too early for the third.

Diogo Dalot – 3/10

Poor for the goal. Weak against Zaha and a few mistakes afterwards.

Raphael Varane – 5/10

Solid mostly but the theme of mistakes after scoring is continuing with him in the team.

Victor Lindelof – 3/10

A few confusing passes that out his teammates in awkward positions. The whole defence were poor when it mattered though.

Sofyan Amrabat – 5/10

Good first half. Potentially the best of the back five which isn’t a big compliment.

Casemiro – 3/10

Dreadful display with with the ball. Better when given more licence to go forward in the second half until he was forced into the tackle that led to the red card.

Mason Mount – 7/10

United’s bright spark in the middle. Looks like one of the only players capable of playing one and two touches at times.

Hannibal Mejbri – 6/10

A solid first half, with his energy being useful, but replaced at half-time.

Bruno Fernandes – 4/10

No real impact. Poor.

Rasmus Hojlund – 8/10

Brilliant first goal with the movement and execution on his header. He was United’s best player with several runs on the ball to help carve out opportunities going forward for his team, one led to his brilliant second goal.

Marcus Rashford – 4/10

A poor start but grew into the game well and played the excellent cross to Hojlund for the goal. He should’ve scored in the second half, but chose to try and pass. It seems like the biggest example of his confidence right now but also how he’s attempting to be less selfish, but not in the right moments.

Subsitutes

Christian Eriksen – 5/10

Decent.

Alejandro Garnacho – N/A

Antony – N/A

Anthony Martial – N/A
