Player Ratings: Manchester United vs Fulham (FA Cup)
Manchester United lost on penalties against Fulham in their FA Cup fifth-round clash at Old Trafford.
Manchester United started the FA Cup clash brightly but struggled to create any real threat in the final third, lacking pace in their attacking line.
As the first half came to a close, Ruben Amorim’s side conceded a poor goal—yet again from a corner—leaving them with plenty to do in the second half.
The response was far from immediate, and frustration grew among the Old Trafford crowd due to the team’s lack of intensity.
However, as has often been the case this season, when United needed a moment of inspiration, Bruno Fernandes delivered. He expertly met Diogo Dalot’s low cross to provide the much-needed equaliser.
That sent the game to extra-time, where neither team were able to find a goal. Fulham won on penalties after Victor Lindelöf and Joshua Zirkzee saw their spot-kicks saved.
