Player Ratings: Manchester United vs Copenhagen (Champions League)

Manchester United won 1-0 against FC Copenhagen at Old Trafford as Andre Onana saved a last-minute penalty to secure the victory for his team.

It was a dramatic victory after a poor first-half performance from Erik ten Hag’s men. Harry Maguire gave the team the lead in the second half after improvements were made following Christian Eriksen’s entry to the pitch.

The penalty save in the last moments will provide Onana with confidence and it was crucial for United, who got their first Champions League win of the season.

Saved United with a crucial penalty save in the last seconds. A few other good saves too. Still going long too often.

Diogo Dalot – 7/10

Some good work on the right flank going forward. Alert defensively too.

Raphael Varane – 6/10

Solid on his return to the lineup.

Harry Maguire – 8.5/10

A couple of mistakes early on which weren’t pounced on but went onto be crucial to United’s offensive play with his progression. And then scored the winning goal with a great header. Our Man of the Match.

Sergio Reguilon – 6/10

A decent display overall. But he could’ve allowed Rashford to go one-on-one with a better pass late on on the first half.

Sofyan Amrabat – 7/10

Solid display. Helped United take control of the game in periods and a few good moments going forward. Probably undeservedly subbed at half-time.

Scott McTominay – 5/10

Uninvolved mostly in his advanced position. Almost got on the end of a good team move in the first half. Dropped deeper in the second half and was OK but gave away a penalty for the second game running.

Bruno Fernandes – 5/10

Moved around everywhere on the pitch to try and make an impact but didn’t stamp much authority on the game.

Antony – 5/10

A couple decent moments but largely ineffective up until he was replaced.

Rasmus Hojlund – 7/10

Some great hold-up play whilst also getting close inside the box a couple of times. Solid overall.

Marcus Rashford – 5/10

Created a great chance for Hojlund early on but not much else and lost the ball too often.

A very good performance off the bench and helped turn the game around. Assist to top off the performance.

Victor Lindelof – 6.5/10

Decent display.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6.5/10

Helped inject some pace and power into United’s attack. Some great moments but needed to score his chance one-on-one.
