Manchester United lost 1-0 against Chelsea in their final away game in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Friday night.
Ruben Amorim decided to name a strong Manchester United lineup for this game against Chelsea despite having the Europa League final next week as he wants to see his team compete.
United have been so poor in the Premier League this season but were the better team at Stamford Bridge in the first half but once again could not find the back of the net. Harry Maguire did look to have scored a great goal but VAR disallowed it for an offside.
Chelsea opened the scoring midway through the second half after a brilliant move and Amorim’s side simply didn’t have enough to find a response.
The United player ratings can be read below.
United player ratings vs Chelsea
André Onana – 5/10
Couldn’t do much for the goal. Some poor moments which weren’t pounced on.
Victor Lindelöf – 5/10
Poor at the back post for the goal.
Harry Maguire – 6/10
Good in the first half but some mistakes in possession late in the game.
Luke Shaw – 6/10
Some good play. Came off early.
Noussair Mazraoui – 6/10
Decent but should be doing better for the goal.
Casemiro – 7.5/10
Things fell apart without him in the middle late on. Solid.
Bruno Fernandes – 7.5/10
A brilliant first-half display. Subbed early.
Patrick Dorgu – 7/10
Decent overall. Strong in his duels.
Amad – 6/10
A quiet first half and better in the second half.
Mason Mount – 5/10
Should have done better with a couple of chances pulled back to him.
Rasmus Højlund – 1/10
Despite some suggesting it would be unthinkable to drop your only centre-forward for the final, he simply can’t start in Bilbao. Maguire, Mainoo, Mount – anyone.
Substitutes
Manuel Ugarte – 4/10
Alejandro Garnacho – 4/10
Ayden Heaven – 5/10
Kobbie Mainoo – 5/10
