Player Ratings: Manchester United 1-2 Brighton (FA Cup)

Manchester United lost 2-1 at Old Trafford in their FA Cup third-round tie against Brighton and were knocked out of the competition.

This game followed a similar trend to the clash against Burnley, with Manchester United dominating but their opponents opening the scoring in the first half.

Darren Fletcher’s side played some good football but simply failed to deliver in both boxes and exited the FA Cup at the earliest stage after Danny Welbeck added a second goal for the visitors in the second half.

The United player ratings can be read below.

Made a huge mistake on the ball but a good save to stop it being punished. OK otherwise.

Not good enough.

Leny Yoro – 5/10

Didn’t get tight enough for the second goal.

Lisandro Martínez – 6/10

Good in possession but suspect defensively.

Won most of his duels but allowed his man too much space in the build up for the second goal.

Manuel Ugarte – 7/10

A decent display, done the simple stuff well.

Kobbie Mainoo – 7.5/10

Solid game. Came off midway through the second half.

Tried to feed Šeško chances. Unlucky with a couple of them.
