Player Ratings: Manchester United vs Bournemouth
Manchester United lost 3-0 against Bournemouth in the Premier League at Old Trafford after a dismal display from the hosts.
The opening goal came within five minutes and United then conceded two within a matter of minutes in the second half.
Erik ten Hag’s side failed to play anything close to their display against Chelsea and even after Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund came onto the pitch, they rarely threatened Bournemouth.
The player ratings can be read below:
Andre Onana – 4/10
Nothing he can do for the opener but major question marks over the second.
Diogo Dalot – 2/10
Poor defensively and failed to find Hojund for a simple goal when the game was in the balance.
Harry Maguire – 6/10
Great in the first half. Solid on the ball and some important tackles. Reacted well to Solanke’s movement for the goal, it was just incredibly taken. Average in the second half, which was still better than most others.
Luke Shaw – 3/10
Looked like he might’ve been able to cut out the cross for the opening goal and then bullied in the second half.
Sergio Reguilon – 3/10
Not good enough defensively and whilst he was helping going forward, there wasn’t the quality at the end of it.
Sofyan Amrabat – 4.5/10
OK. Nothing great as he was isolated often in the middle.
Scott McTominay – 2/10
So poor when he doesn’t have the opportunity to raid the box and score. Nothing from him.
Bruno Fernandes -2.5/10
Awful mistakes on the ball cost his team. His petulant yellow card once the game was lost makes it seem like he doesn’t want to face Liverpool. And now he won’t.
Antony – 4.5/10
One of United’s slightly better players but how long can you defend his lack of quality in the final third? I’m not sure.
Anthony Martial – 3.5/10
Some half-decent moments, but his insistence to be the one dropping towards the edge of the box, or out wide, is taking the exact space that McTominay attacks and forcing the likes of Bruno Fernandes to try and occupy the last defenders. Rightly replaced.
Alejandro Garnacho – 5/10
Not involved enough although did spark some of United’s better moments.
Subs
Rasmus Hojlund – 6/10
Good energy and created chances but as a young forward, he must be so frustrated at some of his teammates ignoring him in the box.
Marcus Rashford – 5/10
OK cameo. Perhaps should’ve had a penalty after he looked to be shoved off the ball.
Jonny Evans – 3/10
Almost gifted them a fourth goal. Looked beat when he came on.
Facundo Pellistri – 5/10
OK.
