Manchester United lost 1-0 in their opening pre-season friendly against Norwegian side Rosenborg.

Erik ten Hag’s side are starting to prepare for the 2024/25 campaign with the Premier League season approaching. This is their first time back on the pitch since their FA Cup final victory.

Rosenborg provided a great opponent for United. They are currently 14 games into their league campaign and that was shown through their energy in the game.

Radek Vitek was outstanding in the game, but Rosenborg managed to score a last-minute goal against the young Reds.

The player ratings in the game so far can be read below.

Radek Vitek – 9/10

An unbelievable performance from the 20-year-old goalkeeper. Countless saves but unable to keep the clean sheet after the late winner.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10

Like many others, struggled against the energy of the opposition.

Jonny Evans – 6/10

A few important blocks.

Will Fish – 6/10

Some decent defensive contributions.

Sam Murray – 5/10

A couple of mistakes in possession.

Casemiro – 5/10

A heavy challenge into him early on. Some sloppy moments.

Hannibal Mejbri – 5/10

Showing some energy.

Mason Mount – 7/10

A few good moments, especially on the turn.

Ethan Williams – 5/10

Looked nervous with some of his passes.

Ethan Wheatley – 5/10

Not much to feed on. A dangerous cross into the box.

Marcus Rashford – 6/10

Looks sharp with the ball at his feet.

Second half XI

Habeeb Ogunneye – 6/10

A decent display.

Rhys Bennett – 5/10

Okay performance off the bench.

Sonny Aljofree – 5/10

Same as Bennett.

Harry Amass – 5/10

One of the most exciting talents in the academy but it was a sloppy performance, like many, during his first pre-season fixture.

Toby Collyer – 7/10

It was a very impressive half by the young midfielder, who Ten Hag highly rates.

Maxi Oyedele – 7/10

Also impressed in the midfield.

Jack Fletcher – 6/10

Not as involved as others put some bright moments.

Ethan Ennis – 7/10

Lively in the attacking areas. Stung the goalkeepers’ gloves with a powerful strike from range.

James Scanlon – 6/10

A couple of decent moments.

Joe Hugill – 5/10

Not much action for the striker.
