Manchester United have won 2-0 against Rangers in their second pre-season friendly of the summer.

Erik ten Hag’s side were impressive, with Amad Diallo and new signing Leny Yoro standing out for the Reds in the first-half.

It was Amad who opened the scoring with a brilliant goal towards the end of the half. Yoro also made a goal-saving tackle earlier in the game.

Ten Hag made 10 changes to the team at half-time, with a youthful side coming out for the second period.

Joe Hugill scored a second goal and the young Reds impressed, especially defensively, against a strong Rangers side.

The United player ratings can be read below.

André Onana – 6/10

Some nice passes, no serious tests from the Rangers’ forwards yet.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7/10

A solid first-half display from the right-back.

Leny Yoro – 8.5/10

Settled into the team immediately, made a goal-saving tackle, a beautiful cross-field pass and several other impressive moments. I can see what the hype is all about.

Jonny Evans – 6/10

A decent first half from the veteran defender.

Sam Murray – 6/10

A decent display at left-back.

Casemiro – 5/10

Not a great first half, with a few mistakes.

Toby Collyer – 7.5/10

Another really promising display. He is eager to get involved and has made several important defensive contributions.

Mason Mount – 7/10

Some good moments on the half-turn, an assist for Amad. Solid showing.

Amad Diallo – 9/10

An incredible first-half performance from the Ivorian. He looks very sharp and should’ve got an assist after a brilliant cutback.

Jadon Sancho – 7/10

A couple mistakes on the ball early on, but a solid showing in his first display for the club since August 2023. He looks eager to impress.

Ethan Wheatley – 7/10

Some good movements and unfortunate that his shot from Amad’s cross was blocked.

Second half XI

Habeeb Ogunneye – 6/10

Some difficulties against the Rangers press on that side, decent overall.

Rhys Bennett – 7/10

A solid display at the back.

Will Fish – 8/10

An important tackle early in the second half, impressed against the Rangers frontline.

Harry Amass – 7/10

The left-back started very well with several runs going forward. Solid overall.

Maxi Oyedele – 8/10

An impressive display topped off with a brilliant assist for Hugill.

Jack Fletcher – 6/10

Not majorly involved in the game.

Hannibal Mejbri – 7/10

A busy half in terms of defending and attacking. Decent.

Sam Mather – 6/10

Some good moments when he got onto the ball.

Ethan Ennis – 6/10

A decent performance but not too much action.

Joe Hugill – 8/10

A brilliant and ruthless finish to score the second. Good movement to receive the pass as well.
