Manchester United lost 2-1 in the FA Cup final against Manchester City as David de Gea let slip in another big game during his career at the club.

İlkay Gündoğan’s brace was enough to see off United, who scored from the penalty spot courtesy of Bruno Fernandes.

The player ratings for the cup final loss can be read below.

David de Gea – 2/10

Didn’t dive but could never have expected the shot for the early goal. Distribution questionable all game and pathetic goalkeeping for the eventual City winner. Another big game mistake for a player that should be playing his last game for the club.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7/10

United’s best player in the first half and his forward run and header won the penalty. Decent in the second too.

Raphael Varane – 7/10

Missed a golden chance in the first half. Solid otherwise.

Victor Lindelöf – 5/10

Probably should’ve been stronger against Haaland for the early opener.

Luke Shaw – 6/10

Wasn’t involved enough in the game really. Decent performance.

Casemiro – 7/10

Helped urge United on after going 1-0 down. Solid for most of the game.

Fred – 5/10

We had some really good Fred moments but also some really bad ones, including some silly fouls inside United’s third.

Bruno Fernandes – 6/10

Elite composure to slot away the penalty. Huffed and puffed in the midfield but couldn’t put his quality in the final third on the game.

Christian Eriksen – 5/10

He was often bypassed and should’ve slipped in Rashford midway through the first half.

Jadon Sancho – 4/10

Poor performance. Too passive.

Marcus Rashford – 6/10

Fed off scraps in the first half and done well bringing others into play and running the channels. Second half he was quiet. Had one shot just over the bar.

Substitutes

Alejandro Garnacho – 8/10

The best player on the pitch after coming on. Caused problems for City’s defence.

Wout Weghorst – 5/10

One decent lay off. Not involved enough otherwise.

Scott McTominay – 6/10

Could’ve equalised at the death.
