Manchester United lost 3-0 in their away clash against Manchester City in the Premier League as they produced an embarrassing performance.
It was a goal from Phil Foden to open the scoring after some questionable defending from Manchester United. Erling Haaland then scored a second-half brace with more terrible United defending.
This was unlike previous defeats against Pep Guardiola’s side, who have been an excellent team over the last 10 years. They weren’t even that impressive but still somehow managed to win comfortably.
The United player ratings can be read below.
United player ratings vs City
Altay Bayındır – 2/10
A bag of nerves all game. He’s begging Lammens to take over from him.
Leny Yoro – 6/10
One of the few United players who performed well. His early substitution was confusing.
Matthijs de Ligt – 5/10
Done OK.
Luke Shaw – 3/10
Needed to step out and engage Doku ahead of City’s opener. Bullied for Haaland’s first goal too.
Noussair Mazraoui – 5/10
Caught in possession a few times.
Manuel Ugarte – 4/10
Energetic but that doesn’t matter too much if you can’t do anything on the ball. Gave the ball to City for their third.
Bruno Fernandes – 5/10
Alarming that he wasn’t able to get on the ball in dangerous areas enough. He’s too busy trying to follow runners into our own box.
Patrick Dorgu – 4/10
He fights a lot but the final ball is simply missing.
Bryan Mbeumo – 6.5/10
Tried to drag United back into the game but was unable to do so.
Amad – 5/10
Lacking quality in the important moments.
Benjamin Šeško – 5/10
Showed some good signs but just didn’t get enough of the ball.
Substitutes
Harry Maguire – 5/10
Kobbie Mainoo – 6.5/10
Casemiro – 6/10
Joshua Zirkzee – 6/10
