Match Coverage
Player Ratings: Manchester United 3-0 Nottingham Forest (Premier League)
Manchester United were comfortable victors in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.
First-half goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial gave The Reds the lead going into the break before substitutes Fred added to the scoreline towards the end of the game.
Casemiro was awarded Man of the Match after a superb performance in the middle of the park.
Here are UtdDistrict’s player ratings for the victory:
David de Gea – 6.5/10
Lucky that the Forest goal in the first half was disallowed. Quiet second half other than a rather routine double save mid-way through.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6.5/10
Another start for the right-back with Diogo Dalot injured. Done well on the right side with little help from Antony.
Raphael Varane – 7.5/10
Came back after playing 113 minutes in the World Cup final nine days ago. Cool as ever alongside a makeshift partner until he was replaced.
Luke Shaw – 7.5/10
Done well in his first-ever professional game at centre-back. Good positional awareness to stop a few counters.
Tyrell Malacia – 7/10
A good performance on the left but does need to improve his attacking output.
Casemiro – 9/10
Incredible tackle to turn defence into attack for United’s second. The glue in the midfield again, just amazing at his job and got an assist at the end to top off his performance.
Christian Eriksen – 7.5/10
Perfectly worked corner to set-up United’s first. Solid alognside his Brazilian partner.
Antony – 5/10
Poor first half other than a smart run to create space for Martial to shoot for the second goal. Should’ve scored his chance in the second half before coming off.
Bruno Fernandes – 7.5/10
Impressive in the centre and involved in United’s second. Worked tirelessly throughout and added his expected quality to the game. Deserved an assist but Antony couldn’t finish.
Marcus Rashford – 8.5/10
After scoring against Burnley last week, he’s added another goal and assist to his tally. Full of confidence and looked United’s most dangerous player.
Anthony Martial – 7.5/10
Second start in a row and got a goal this time. Good link-up with his teammates throughout.
Substitutes
Alejandro Garnacho – 7/10
Looked dangerous when the ball came to him. Great take-on and ball across on 75 minutes.
Donny van de Beek – 6/10
Some good runs on the left side.
Fred – 7/10
Great finish for United’s third. Energetic cameo.
Harry Maguire – N/A
