Manchester United drew 2-2 against Lyon in the first-leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash in France.
André Onana was the centre of attention for this game and he certainly did not disappoint in the game – for Lyon.
The Manchester United goalkeeper cost his team a lead going into the second leg with two pathetic errors.
Leny Yoro scored an equaliser on the turn of half-time for Ruben Amorim’s side and substitute Joshua Zirkzee looked to win the game late on with a great header.
However, Onana parried a tame shot into the path of Rayan Cherki in the final seconds of the game to ruin his team’s hard work.
United player ratings can be read below.
United player ratings vs Lyon
André Onana – 0/10
Pathetic. That should really be his United career over. Biggest game of the season so far and he makes two mistakes for both of the goals after causing a stir in the media beforehand. Altay Bayındır deserves to start.
Noussair Mazraoui – 8.5/10
Brilliant performance on the night. Some crucial blocks and good in possession.
Harry Maguire – 7/10
Decent display.
Leny Yoro – 8.5/10
Solid game and came up with a magic moment. His header has got United back in the game.
Diogo Dalot – 7.5/10
One of United’s better players.
Manuel Ugarte – 5/10
His wayward shot led to an assist for Yoro. Underwhelming overall.
Casemiro – 7/10
A decent display in the middle.
Patrick Dorgu – 7/10
Struggling with the physical battle on his flank but set up a brilliant chance and grew into the game.
Alejandro Garnacho – 4/10
He ruined multiple dangerous attacks in the second half. Poor.
Bruno Fernandes – 8/10
Another assist. Brilliant cross. Deserves a better team.
Rasmus Højlund – 3/10
Terrible. He got a great chance and fluffed his shot and has failed to hold anything up. The one time he made a good run to receive the ball on the flank, his attempted pass to Garnacho ran straight out. Subbed early in the second half.
Substitutes
Joshua Zirkzee – 8/10
Mason Mount – 6/10
Victor Lindelöf – 6/10
Kobbie Mainoo – 7/10
