Player Ratings: Crystal Palace 1-2 Manchester United (Premier League)

Manchester United won 2-1 in their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after a second-half comeback.

In a difficult away fixture, Manchester United started the game brightly but Crystal Palace grew into the game and started threatening Senne Lammens’ goal.

As the half went on, big chances were hard to come by for either team but Leny Yoro gifted the hosts the perfect opportunity to open the scoring after a silly foul inside the box.

Jean-Philippe Mateta stepped up from the spot and found the back of the net to score after VAR ruled out an initial strike for a double-touch.

United came out with an improved performance in the second half and Joshua Zirkzee struck wonderfully from a tight angle to equalise.

Soon afterwards, Mason Mount found the bottom corner from a set-piece routine to put United into the lead and the Reds managed to hold onto the result to secure three points.

The United player ratings can be read below.

United player ratings vs Palace

Senne Lammens – 7/10

A couple of decent saves in the first-half. Sent the wrong way for both penalty attempts.

Leny Yoro – 4/10

A poor decision to try and tackle Mateta and give away the penalty. Looked sloppy before an early substitution.

Matthijs de Ligt – 5/10

Lucky that a slip as the last man was not punished. Poor passing when attempting to play forward.

Luke Shaw – 8.5/10

His 300th game for United and he was arguably the best player on the pitch. A crunching tackle midway through the first-half brought applause while a last-ditch tackle on the verge of half-time stopped a certain goal.

Amad – 6/10

Worked hard but didn’t impact much in the final third.

Casemiro – 7/10

Probably should have scored but decent throughout. Managed to avoid a booking too.

Bruno Fernandes – 8.5/10

An underwhelming first half but stepped up massively to lead United to victory with two assists.

Diogo Dalot – 6/10

He kept working hard on the left flank even if the quality wasn’t there too often.

Bryan Mbeumo – 5/10

One of his quietest games so far this season.

Mason Mount – 8/10

A solid display topped off with a great finish to win the game.

Joshua Zirkzee – 7/10

He struggled throughout the game but produced a real moment of quality to score the equaliser and that will hopefully give him some needed confidence.

Substitutes

Noussair Mazraoui – 6/10

Lisandro Martínez – 6/10

Kobbie Mainoo – 6/10

Patrick Dorgu – 6/10
