Player Ratings: Brighton 1-0 Manchester United (Premier League)

Manchester United fell short after Brighton scored a last-minute penalty winner to take all 3 points at the Amex.
It was yet another performance where United relied on individual brilliance to win the game rather than taking control. Brighton were brilliant all night, creating chances and playing beautiful football but they just couldn’t find the goal.
The Seagulls got what they deserved in the end after Luke Shaw handled the ball in the box and after a VAR review, a penalty was given, which was smashed home by Alexis MacAllister to win the game.
Here are the player ratings for the game:
David De Gea – 6/10
Made a few good saves and kept United in the game, almost had another clean sheet
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7/10
Kept Mitoma quiet for the majority of the game and did okay going forward too.
Victor Lindelof – 6.5/10
Decent performance, was caught out a few times but for the most part, defended quite well and was good in possession too.
Luke Shaw – 8.5/10
Absolutely brilliant performance once again, was really unlucky with the handball which in the end cost United a point but his performance was genuinely world-class.
Diogo Dalot – 6/10
OK performance, nothing outstanding. Got caught out a few times but did fine.
Casemiro – 4.5/10
Poor performance from the Brazilian who usually is a rock in these games. Made a few rash challenges and a lot of stray passes too, gave away possession way too often
Fred – 4/10
Like his Brazilian teammate, poor for the same reasons. Too wasteful in possession.
Bruno Fernandes – 6.5/10
Did what he could when United had the ball, but wasn’t given enough opportunities to express himself. Decent performance.
Antony Santos – 6/10
Did well at times but needs to find that finishing touch and final ball to be more effective, United concede again when he comes off the pitch, and a pattern is starting to appear.
Anthony Martial – 6/10
Had a good chance which he created himself, was unlucky quite a bit but looked like the best attacker, especially first half.
Marcus Rashford – 6/10
Ineffective today, should have done more up against Caicedo and his overall dribbling was poor. Did well at times though was unlucky.
Substitutions
Jadon Sancho – 5/10
Didn’t do much at all, average cameo
Wout Weghorst – 5/10
Passenger off the bench, as usual, can’t seem to make an impact
Marcel Sabitzer – 6/10
Did okay when he came on, not enough to create anything though
