Patrick Dorgu came off injured during Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Arsenal after scoring a brilliant goal in the second half.
Manchester United claimed a thrilling 3–2 win over Arsenal in their Premier League encounter at the Emirates Stadium.
United were forced into a defensive stance early on as Arsenal dictated play and eventually broke the deadlock through an own goal.
Carrick’s men responded in ideal fashion, with Bryan Mbeumo punishing a costly mistake at the back to restore parity.
The visitors grew into the game late in the first half and carried their momentum after the break, as Patrick Dorgu fired home a superb effort to give United the lead.
Arsenal equalised from a set piece, but substitute Matheus Cunha struck late on to secure all three points for the Reds.
Dorgu provides injury update after stunning goal vs Arsenal
Dorgu, 21, has been in solid form recently and he continued that at the Emirates Stadium. No one expected him to score such a good goal to put United into the lead.
In off the crossbar, it was an excellent moment from the Danish international and he almost scored again moments later after smashing an effort wide of the post.
But his game ended early after he appeared to injure his hamstring following a tussle with an Arsenal defender. He was replaced by Benjamin Šeško midway through the second half.
After full-time, Steven Railston reported that Dorgu was walking with a limp as he left the North London stadium. When asked about his injury, the United star responded: “We’ll see…”
Following on from that, Carrick clarified that it was only cramp that Dorgu had. “Hopefully, it’s not too bad,” he said.
United have options
It would be a blow for United if Dorgu was out of action for any games as he is in great form at the moment.
But, fortunately for United, there are great options within the squad. Matheus Cunha shown that with his amazing winning goal off the bench.
Benjamin Šeško and Mason Mount are also options within the squad, as is 18-year-old Shea Lacey after impressing in his first-team cameos.
