Following Saturday’s derby victory at Old Trafford, Manchester United will travel down to London to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday evening.

United ended up 2-1 victors over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City last weekend, following an exciting comeback which saw goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford help Erik ten Hag’s men earn the three points.

Crystal Palace were defeated 1-0 away to struggling Chelsea on Sunday and are on a poor run of form which has seen them win just one game in five since the resumption of club football following the World Cup.

United have an opportunity to move into second place in the Premier League with a win over Patrick Viera’s side, albeit shortly, unless City drop points against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday. The Red Devils can close the gap on Arsenal at the top of the league to six points, and a trip to the Emirates looming on Sunday.

Manchester United – Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes has shown recently why he is so pivotal to Ten Hag’s United side. The vice-captain has made a huge impact since he returned to United following the World Cup.

Fernandes has registered two assists and a goal in six games, but he brings far more than just goal contributions to United’s side. His work rate off the ball and quality on it are both so important for United. He also brings a level of leadership and passion that can drive the team forward.

The Portugal international is no doubt a key player for United, and, with the form he is in, is sure to be one to look out for on Wednesday night.

Crystal Palace – Michael Olise

21-year-old right-winger Michael Olise has been a shining light during what has been a tough spell for Crystal Palace of late. He registered two assists against Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve, to help Palace win their only game since the World Cup.

A tricky winger, Olise enjoys beating opponents and is a silky dribbler who can be dangerous when one-vs-one against a defender. The France under-21 international also possesses the ability to put a wicked cross into the penalty area.

Olise is certainly one to watch out for and could provide United’s left-back, whether that be Tyrell Malacia or Luke Shaw, with a unique challenge at Selhurst Park this week.
