Sir Jim Ratcliffe has set Omar Berrada his first task, which is set to impact at least three players at Manchester United.

According to reports from Sunday morning, Sir Jim Ratcliffe aims to implement a stringent approach towards Manchester United‘s top earners.

He envisions a pay structure heavily reliant on bonuses, allowing players to reap financial rewards based on their success at Old Trafford.

INEOS have entrusted new CEO Omar Berrada with the responsibility of maintaining player salaries below a basic threshold of £300,000 per week. Despite this, there is acknowledgement within INEOS that certain circumstances may necessitate flexibility, especially with an important transfer window on the horizon.

This strategy mirrors the successful approach Berrada previously spearheaded at Manchester City. Ratcliffe has now assigned the CEO the task of introducing a blueprint akin to the one that has proven effective across town.

This new policy has already impacted one Manchester United player and is set to affect at least a further two in the coming months.

United have three players on their books who currently earn at least £300,000-a-week: Casemiro (£350k), Raphaël Varane (£340k), and Marcus Rashford (£300k).

Raphaël Varane has already seen this policy in action, with the club refusing to trigger his one-year extension at the current wage and only willing to extend if he reduces this – some reports have even gone as far as to claim that United are happy to let him leave altogether.

Casemiro is subject to increasing speculation that he will leave United this summer amid interest from Saudi Arabia, while Marcus Rashford’s impact at United this season has dwindled to inconsistent form and a reduction in his goalscoring output compared to last season.
