Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has confirmed that his side have suffered an injury blow as they prepare to visit Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon as they welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford.

Rúben Amorim’s men have won five of their seven matches in 2025, including three in a row, and head back home following a 2-0 victory over FCSB, with Diogo Dalot and Kobbie Mainoo getting on the scoresheet.

United sit 12th ahead of game week 24, two points above Palace, and Amorim will be eager to see his side continue their strong run.

Old Trafford has been a tricky ground for United in recent months, with several key league defeats on home turf. However, with their form on the rise in 2025, they will aim to put those struggles behind them and secure another win on Sunday.

Glasner confirms Palace injury blow

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that, ahead of the United clash, he has been informed that Selhurst Park star Eberechi Eze will be unavailable for the Old Trafford trip.

“We will also miss Eberechi on Sunday,” Glasner said. “He’s struggled the last weeks and months. He got a knock in the League Cup game [against Arsenal] at the Emirates and since then he’s always had pain, training and not training, playing and then taking him off…

“Last week, he almost didn’t train the whole week, and this week, it started again. We want to get him pain-free, so he can perform at his best level, so he won’t go with us to Manchester.”

Cheick Doucouré and Chadi Riad are sidelined for the rest of the season with knee injuries, while Joel Ward is also unavailable.

On a positive note, Matheus França and Adam Wharton have been back in training this week and are expected to return. Meanwhile, new signing Romain Esse marked his debut with a goal in their weekend defeat to Brentford.

United’s injury news

United only have three players who are set to be unavailable as Palace travel to Manchester this weekend.

Mason Mount is not expected to return until March, while Jonny Evans was not available against FCSB earlier this week and is not expect to return to training ahead of the Sunday clash.

Luke Shaw rejoined training earlier this week, but Amorim has already warned that it may be a number of weeks until the left-back returns to action.

“It can take a little bit more time,” Amorim said of Shaw’s return. “I think he needs to train more, to spend more time with his team-mates playing even like normal, small-sided games, not just working alone.

“He stayed there [at Carrington on Thursday] to make a different type of work, he’s going to get together with the team when we arrive and start from there. When I feel it is the right moment, we will start with some minutes in the games.”
