Noussair Mazraoui says one young Man Utd star is “a big example” and Harry Maguire completely agrees

Noussair Mazraoui has praised one of his younger Manchester United teammates for their ability to adapt to Ruben Amorim’s system.

Manchester United appointed Ruben Amorim as head coach earlier this season and the players have since been trying to adapt to his 3-4-3 system.

Many have struggled while some have been able to excel in their new roles, such as Noussair Mazraoui, who has found a home in the back three.

While he has also played at wingback, the Moroccan looks much more comfortable when playing as the right-sided centre-back in the backline.

Other players have also looked solid in Amorim’s style such as Leny Yoro, who seems to be improving from week-to-week in the back three.

Mazraoui has one young United star is “a big example”

Mazraoui has been singing the praises of Yoro in a recent interview with Premier League Productions, where he was asked about whether players are getting used to Amorim’s demands.

He highlighted the Frenchman as a “big example” of this since the teenager has “really improved” in his game over recent months

“Yes, I think a big example of that is Leny [Yoro]. How he started off as this left centre-back and how he is doing now,” explained Mazraoui.

“He has really improved. The way he is taking the ball, he is carrying the ball a lot more, it’s a little bit where we want to go and end eventually.”

With his solid performances, Yoro has made himself one of United’s most important players heading into the final stretch of the campaign.

Maguire agrees with Mazraoui about Yoro

Mazraoui is not the only senior player to be impressed by Yoro, however, as Harry Maguire has also offered his own praise for the summer signing.

Speaking to the media after United’s win over Lyon in the Europa League, the experienced defender stated that his younger teammate had been the standout player over the two-legged tie.

“I think Leny was brilliant again,” Maguire said. “Over the two ties I’d say he’s been our best player, so congratulations to Leny.”

After signing for big money last summer, it would have been frustrating for Yoro to spend the first few months of the season out of action with an injury.

Since that point, he has slowly been working towards full fitness and consistent minutes, and now he is really showing why the club spent so much on him.
