Manchester United wonderkid Amir Ibragimov has sent a clear message after signing his first professional contract with the club.
Despite the first-team at Manchester United looking bleak right now, there is a lot of excitement about the Academy talent within the club.
After the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho emerged as first-team regulars, there is another crop of stars trying to push their way into Ruben Amorim’s thoughts.
Amir Ibragimov is a name that many fans have been aware of for several years despite the fact he only turned 17 this week.
That is often the case for the most talented players within the setup at United – highlights of Shea Lacey had gone viral before he made his Under-18s debut and similar is happening with JJ Gabriel now.
Ibragimov made his Under-18s debut back in September 2022 when he was just 14 years of age. He has now become a consistent feature in that team, while also appearing for the Under-21s on occasion.
Despite his smaller frame, the versatile player has immense strength for his size and has showcased that against senior opposition. Ibragimov can play anywhere across the frontline and also in midfield.
Ibragimov sends clear message after signing United contract
After turning 17 on Wednesday, Ibragimov was rewarded with his first professional contract at Old Trafford this week.
The teenager reacted on Instagram with a photo of him putting pen to paper on his new deal.
“Happy to sign my first professional contract @manchesterunited nothing changes, the hard work goes on. #alhamdulillah,” he wrote.
Ibragimov’s teammates jumped to the comments to congratulate him on his contract. Harry Amass replied with a winky-face emoji while Godwill Kukonki wrote “Congrats bro❤️”.
Ibragimov’s next steps in development
Ibragimov has had experience training with the first-team and even played in a behind-closed-doors friendly for them last year.
However, his next priority will be to play consistent football at Under-21s level next term before trying to push for first-team football at Old Trafford or on loan.
The 17-year-old may end up getting a chance on the pre-season tour alongside some other talents. Sekou Kone is one starlet set to be given an opportunity over the summer.
Fans will certainly be excited to see how Ibragimov’s developments goes in the next 12 months, with there no doubt about the youngster’s talent.
