According to statistical information, one of Rúben Amorim’s four summer transfers has been the fourth-best Premier League signing of 2025.
Manchester United’s 2025 summer transfer window saw the club add four players to their first-team ranks, spending over £200 million.
Three new attackers, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Šeško, were brought in to revolutionise the club’s attack, while goalkeeper Senne Lammens was signed on deadline day.
Mbeumo has had the best start to life in Red, having scored seven goals so far before his Africa Cup of Nations departure, while Cunha and Lammens have endeared themselves to United fans well.
Šeško put in some fantastic performances earlier in the season. However, a six-week knee injury halted his progress, although he recently returned to action and is hoping to kick on as the new year approaches.
Cunha prevails in statistical rankings
Statistic centre WhoScored have ranked the performances of the top 20 Premier League signings so far this season, with GiveMeSport detailing the list.
While Mbeumo is United’s top scorer this season, followed closely by Bruno Fernandes, the Cameroon international ranks only 15th on the list, with an overall statistical score of 6.92 for his performances in the league.
Meanwhile, it’s Cunha who manages to take a spot in the top five of the list, coming in at 4th with an overall score of 7.09.
Only Sunderland’s Omar Alderete (7.11), Mohammed Kudus of Tottenham (7.15), and Granit Xhaka, also of Sunderland (7.18), rank higher than the £62.5 million summer signing.
Cunha and Mbuemo are the perfect blend for United
While it’s all well and good to compare the individual performances of United’s several signings, the best way to look at the incoming transfers is to see how they operate as a cohesive unit.
Mbeumo and Cunha were both signed to play on either side of United’s striker, although both can also fill in up front when needed, and they are the perfect blend.

While Mbeumo’s game is all about efficiency and timing, with the Cameroon star’s relentless energy and brilliant ball-striking key to his game, Cunha is the opposite.
The 26-year-old’s best attributes are his ability to thrive in and create chaos on the front line, often appearing in pockets and pulling off brilliant pieces of skill to unnerve and generate uncertainty for any defensive line trying to stop him.
While Mbeumo brings reliability, Cunha brings magic. it’s the perfect blend for an attacking duo.
