Morten Hjulmand sends clear transfer message to Manchester United amid links
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Morten Hjulmand has sent Manchester United a clear transfer message amid links of a move to the club.
Hjulmand, a Danish defensive midfielder currently playing for the Portuguese club, has recently attracted attention for a potential move to United.
The 24-year-old has established himself as a key player in Sporting’s midfield since his arrival at the start of the season. He has made 48 appearances this term.
Hjulmand’s journey began in Denmark, where he developed through the youth ranks of FC Copenhagen. The same club, United striker Rasmus Højlund, came through. Hjulmand then made a name for himself at Admira Wacker in Austria.
He has been linked with a move to United in recent months, and the midfielder has addressed the interest he is receiving in an interview with Portuguese newspaper Record.

While Hjulmand has suggested that he has no plans to leave Liga Nos in the upcoming summer transfer window, he has left the door open for a Premier League move in the future.
“I haven’t thought about it. There are rumours all the time about different players, coaches and clubs. It’s normal,” he began.
“It’s not something a player should waste energy or time on. We need to have our minds focused elsewhere: here, on our day-to-day lives, when we have so many games to play.”
“I can say that this time at Sporting has been incredible. I really enjoy coming to train every day. I like living in Portugal, and I still have a long-term contract with Sporting. Of course, I want to stay at the club!
“Maybe one day it will be the right time to go to the Premier League… But I’m very happy where I am now and with my life at Sporting.”
