Mikel Arteta admits Arsenal are sweating as star now a “doubt” vs Manchester United
Mikel Arteta has admitted that they are keeping an eye on the fitness of multiple players as one Arsenal star is a “doubt” against Manchester United.
Rúben Amorim takes his Manchester United side to the Emirates to face Arsenal, fresh from an emphatic 4-0 victory over Everton last weekend.
Since arriving at Old Trafford, Amorim has overseen two wins and a draw in his first three games, bringing a renewed sense of optimism to a club that had struggled under Erik ten Hag earlier this season.

Their opponents, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, come into the game in equally strong form after a convincing 5-2 win over West Ham, setting up an intriguing battle between the two sides.
United currently sit 9th in the Premier League, but with just four points separating them from 4th-placed Brighton, the fight for a Champions League spot is still within reach.
Arteta’s Arsenal admission
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Mikel Arteta hinted that Arsenal are sweating over fitness concerns of multiple players ahead of United’s visit to the Emirates.
“We’re going to have a meeting this afternoon,” he explained. “We have done a training session.
“We monitored and kept some players away from certain activities. After that meeting, I will decide which ones are fit and available and who will start. They all want to play.”
Further, the Evening Standard explained that one of the club’s doubts are surrounding star centre-back Gabriel.
The Brazilian international has been a stalwart in defence for Arsenal over the last few seasons, and is widely consdiered to be one of the best centre-backs in world football – but there are quetsions aurrousning his fitness ahead of the United clash.
Beyond this, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Mikel Merino, and Thomas Partey are also doubts, while both Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White are confirmed absentees with respective knee injuries.
United’s injury news
For United, they will be without Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martínez due to suspension. Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelöf are also out after injuries in the last few weeks, while Dan Gore and Toby Collyer are continuing rehabilitation.
Bruno Fernandes is fit to play despite being subsittued against Everton and spotted with an ice pack on the bench, while Leny Yoro may return to the matchday squad for the first time since pre-season as he looks to make his debut for the Reds.
The 19-year-old centre-back was signed from LOSC Lille in the summer for £52 million but injured himself against Arsenal while playing a pre-season tie in Los Angeles, and has been in rehabilition from sergury on his metatarsel ever since.
