Michael Carrick highlighted one important change that he has noticed in his Manchester United side since taking over the side on an interim basis.
Manchester United have been extremely impressive since Michael Carrick took over on an interim basis until the end of the season.
The Reds recorded four straight wins against Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur before battling for a hard-earned draw away against West Ham.
The performance against West Ham was certainly the most inconsistent performance under Carrick, but the side still showed grit and resilience, leaving it late to score an excellent equaliser, finished by Benjamin Šeško.
That fixture against West Ham is the last time that Manchester United will face two games in quick succession this season, and with Carrick’s men now having a short break before the fixture against Everton, they will have plenty of time to regroup and prepare.
Michael Carrick highlights one noticeable change in the side
Following his impressive start at the club, United now sit in fourth place, giving themselves a real chance of securing Champions League football at the end of the season, something that looked extremely unlikely towards the end of Ruben Amorim’s tenure.
Speaking on Inside Carrington, Michael Carrick highlighted how important it has been for his side to show raw emotions on the pitch.
“Yeah, and I think that’s important, you know, and you kind of got to bottle it up somehow. And definitely when you’re playing, you’ve got to do it in a different way. Sometimes you’ve got to use that fire and that aggression.
“Wes [Brown] tells you about the aggression, you know, sometimes it’s a tackle, where sometimes you’ve got to feel it on the pitch.
“Obviously, for us, the emotion is getting decisions right. And then obviously a goal, you’ve got to celebrate goals.”
Carrick on the positives that can be taken from the West Ham draw
After salvaging a point late on against West Ham, Carrick reflected on the positives that the side can take back with them to Manchester.

“Some goals are bigger than others, and you’ve got to feel that.
“We’re not here to flatline and just get through things, you know, you’ve got to have that wave and feel it.
“And, of course, from a coach’s point of view, you like to be in more control and things to go to plan all the time.
“But actually, that kind of magical feeling and mystique of what’s going to happen and the excitement, the anticipation, that’s what we’re all about, you know.
“And even like the West Ham game, getting a late goal to take some from the game, it’s a real positive for us. And we need to carry that on.”
