Michael Carrick handed huge injury boost as “brilliant” Man Utd star spotted in training vs Everton

Michael Carrick has seen a giant boost to his side as one player has been spotted in training dampening doubts over injury concerns with Everton looming.

Manchester United fans will be relieved to see one star in training as Michael Carrick looks to extend his run of five games unbeaten, securing 13 points to of a possible 15.

Most recently, United faced West Ham where a Benjamin Šeško late equaliser secured a point in a close 1-1 draw at the London Stadium.

The game saw Carrick drop points for the first time since his return as manager facing a defence which proved to be tough to break down, sitting deep and utilising the pace and trickery of the width to our United on the break.

With United’s first trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium soon coming, United fans would be pleased to see the return of one player who raised questions over an injury following United’s clash with the Hammers.

Maguire spotted in training

In United’s recent post on X, 32-year-old defender Harry Maguire can be spotted in training alongside the rest of the squad, putting injury doubts to bed after he was replaced by Leny Yoro midweek.

Maguire has been an ever-present factor of Carrick’s side, starting in all five of the 44-year-old’s lineups alongside World Cup winner, Lisandro Martinez, whose return from injury has been brilliant.

Maguire seemed comfortable, participating at the same standard as the rest of the squad, giving Carrick a boost ahead of United’s trip to Merseyside.

However, Yoro made a brilliant cameo against West Ham, providing two crucial blocks to keep United in the game, so the young Frenchman may have made a case to earn a start in United’s next game.

United need to balance minutes

With only the Premier League to focus on, minutes have been thin across the squad, with the likes of Ayden Heaven seeing a major reduction in minutes following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese manager often resorted to the bench to make changes to the defensive line, causing doubts among the fanbase as the idea of shaking up the defence added instability in the latter stages of games.

Carrick has been heavily dependent on the partnership of Maguire and Martinez, and it has proven to be working as the likes of Erling Haaland, Dominik Solanke, and Gabriel Jesus have all been kept quiet when they faced United.

With the expected addition of European football next season, whether it be Champions League or Europa League, the demand on United’s squad will be much harsher, and squad depth will prove to be crucial, particularly in the later stages of the season.

Maguire could still be an essential part of United’s side, with his physical dominance and reading of the game being an integral part of United’s recent success.
