Matheus Cunha spells out his number one “mission” at Manchester United, he’s one of the few who can do it

Matheus Cunha has explained what his number one mission is at Manchester United following his £62.5 million transfer in the summer.

Manchester United midfielder Matheus Cunha has come out in a recent interview, revealing his aspirations for his time at the club, and it won’t disappoint.

Since signing the 26-year-old during the summer transfer window from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, reportedly for around £65.2 million.

Since joining the Reds this season, he has been an integral part of head coach Ruben Amorim’s starting 11.

The Brazilian has become a key player in the recent changes in how the team is playing, having led to a 5-game consecutive run of no losses.

Cunha wants to lift the Premier League at United

After speaking recently with Radio presenter Kenny Allstar, Cunha shared what he wants to achieve during his time at United.

“For me, it’s easier to say because I think United is a club that needs to be on top,” He told Allstar.

“So, what’s my mission with the team? Easy – to bring back the glory days. To help the team restore what everyone dreams of: winning the Premier League, the Champions League, and all the big competitions.

“And I feel like… if we win the Premier League with this club after so many years – wow.”

With Kenny finishing the conversation, stating what everyone’s thinking, “I’m sure Man United fans are going to love that answer.”

Cunha is one of the few who can really restore United

If Cunha were to achieve his dream, he’d be waking the club up from 13 years of sleep. The club last lifted the trophy under Utd legend Sir Alex Ferguson.

Since the Scottish great watched his team lift the trophy in his final season at the club, no manager has been able to do the same.

Although Cunha is yet to properly get cracking at Old Trafford, having scored just one goal since he signed, he is a personality and a character that is so infectious and compelling that he’s one of the few players at the club who could take United on their shoulders and haul them back to the top.

This will hopefully give Amorim greater confidence that, if he does want his name in the book of United managerial greats, he would have Cunha’s backing.
