Matheus Cunha sends bold message ahead of Manchester United vs Arsenal after Mikel Arteta warning

Matheus Cunha has sent a bold message ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal next weekend.

After an unbeaten pre-season that took them to Sweden, the United States, and Old Trafford, Manchester United are set to kick off their 2025/26 Premier League campaign next weekend.

Wins against West Ham and Bournemouth, along with draws versus Leeds, Everton and Fiorentina, have provided momentum for Ruben Amorim’s side ahead of a high-profile opener against Arsenal.

All eyes will be on the debutants, with Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo expected to make their first competitive outings for United.

Arsenal will also showcase new recruits, including Viktor Gyökeres, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke, as Mikel Arteta’s men aim for a fast start of their own.

Amorim admitted that neither Cunha or Mbeumo are close to being 100 per cent heading into the new campaign as they get used to life at Old Trafford.

But both players, along with Sesko, will be eyeing the chance to open their accounts in perfect style against The Gunners.

Arteta has already provided fighting talk ahead of the fixture, claiming that Gyokeres can ‘destroy’ backlines, and now Cunha has sent a message to United supporters.

Writing on his Instagram page after the Fiorentina clash, Cunha wrote: “THEATRE OF DREAMS! Dreams are made to come true, thank you all for the reception.”

Confidently, the Brazilian international added: “Sunday we will be together to start the dream.”

Arsenal clash perfect for season-opener

Playing someone like Arsenal at the beginning of the season can be viewed as unfortunate but United should be looking at this game as a chance to prove a point.

There will be a feel-good factor at Old Trafford for the first time in a little while with hopes for major improvements in the new season.

If Amorim’s men can secure a win, or even a draw with a good performance, then there will be plenty of positivity to take into the following games.

Of course, it’s easier said than done but the likes of Cunha are clearly eager to play their first competitive minutes for the club and make a statement.
