Matheus Cunha sends 10-word message to Manchester United star as West Ham clash approaches

Matheus Cunha has sent a supportive message to one of his Manchester United teammates as he eyes a return to action against West Ham.

Manchester United responded to their loss against Everton by claiming a victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park over the weekend.

Despite falling behind in the first half, the Reds turned the game around after the break, with goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount securing all three points.

Ruben Amorim’s team now sit seventh in the Premier League, though the gap to second-placed Manchester City is only four points.

With a favourable run of fixtures on the horizon, United will be aiming to build some momentum and strengthen their position in the table.

Cunha sends 10-word message to United star

United’s win at Palace was impressive and while Bruno Fernandes grabbed two assists on the day, it was Luke Shaw who stood out for the visitors.

The defender was making his 300th appearance for the Reds, an achievement that would have come much earlier if not for his injury issues over his career.

Shaw produced some important defensive moments, including a last-ditch tackle to stop Palace from scoring, while looking classy as ever on the ball.

Matheus Cunha has made an unlikely friendship with Shaw since his arrival at Old Trafford and even though he didn’t play against Palace, the Brazilian made sure to congratulate his teammate on making 300 appearances for the club.

The forward posted a selfie of him and Shaw at Carrington on Monday afternoon on his Instagram story, with the pair both looking in high spirits, and wrote, “Congrats My brother! 300 in the biggest! You deserve beleza (beauty).”

Shaw has started every Premier League game for United so far this season and will be hoping to continue his positive form heading into the busy December period.

Cunha eyeing return vs West Ham

Cunha has been unavailable for United’s last two games after suffering a head injury in training but he will be hoping for a return against West Ham.

Amorim stated ahead of the game at Selhurst Park that the Brazilian is set to return for the clash against the Hammers.

The United boss told journalists: “I expect to have Matheus in the next one [West Ham United], not this one [vs Crystal Palace].”

It remains to be seen whether the Brazilian will start the game after both Mason Mount and Joshua Zirkzee scored in the win over Palace.
