Mason Mount is reportedly set to be out for up to ten weeks as the Manchester United star suffers yet another injury setback under Rúben Amorim.

In July 2023, Manchester United confirmed they had reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign English midfielder Mason Mount.

Approved by then-manager Erik ten Hag, Mount joined the club for an initial £55 million fee, with performance-based add-ons potentially raising the total to £60 million.

Eighteen months later, Mount’s impact at United has been limited. He has made just 32 appearances, recording one goal and one assist. Persistent injuries have sidelined him for much of his time at the club, with Mount featuring in only 32 of the 79 matches played since his arrival.

Despite Rúben Amorim’s encouraging words about the midfielder, Mount has been dealt yet another injury setback.

Mount’s latest injury details revealed

According to X account UtdMenace, which has shown consistent reliability relating to United’s injury news, Mount may be out of action for up to ten weeks following an injury against Manchester City earlier this month.

The insider account states that he has suffered a hamstring problem due to a hyperextended leg, with his tendon also being involved in the injury.

Depending on rehabilitation and recovery, Mount’s return timeline may vary, but it seems that he will not be back for United until March 2025 at the earliest.

This is awful news for Mount, who recently left a message on his Instagram, telling fans after his injury: “Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.

“United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith.

“I’ve said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won’t stop until that’s achieved.”

How Mount is feeling behind the scenes after his injury

“He’s really sad and in the dressing room he was really really sad, so we need to help him,” Amorim said last week when asked how the 25-year-old is feeling after his latest injury.

“When the player is in this moment with a lot of injuries and with this schedule without many training with all the squad, [it] makes the load he really needs, try to do it with exercise but it’s not the same.

“It’s hard and we have to maintain the load and we have to travel and with travelling you cannot train, so it’s really hard for them.

“We will try to find a better way to recover these kind of guys like Mount and Luke Shaw because after a few weeks and a few months they will be ready to cope with a lot of things.”
