Mason Mount admits he wants to bring one thing from Chelsea to Manchester United

Mason Mount was a fan-favourite at Chelsea before leaving for Manchester United and is eager to build a similar relationship with the Old Trafford faithful.
The England international joined The Blues at the age of six and was adored by many Chelsea fans up until his last moments at Stamford Bridge.
Now, having made the move to United, Mount has explained that he wants to create a new relationship with the Red Devils’ fanbase, which is widely regarded as one of the best in the world.
However, the new no.7 also recognises the difficulties that the United fanbase will have bonding with a player who comes from a rival team and stresses that he needs to prove himself before that relationship can blossom.
“It really means a lot to me to be able to have that connection with the fans,” he explained. “I need to show them what I can do and prove to them why I’m here first and then, hopefully, we can have that good connection and celebrate many good times together.”
“I’ve had the experience of playing there (at Old Trafford) as an away team and it’s so tough. You’re not only playing against the team but you’re playing against the fans as well and they’re always behind the team and singing the songs. It’s a theatre to come and play, it’s amazing and you look forward to it every time.
Now, I’ll obviously be putting the home kit on and I can’t wait to walk out there, them Champions League nights are going to be special.”
Mount’s last encounter at the Theatre of Dreams came in a 1-1 draw last season where he was seen in a disagreement with new teammate Lisandro Martinez after a fierce challenge from the Argentine.
United fans have fell in love with the player nicknamed ‘The Butcher’ for his qualities on the pitch but also his energy and fight. Mount will be able to offer similar traits as he looks to win the fanbase over.
“I want to say thank you (to the fans),” he added. “I can’t wait to play in front of everyone and like I said before, have many good times together. It’s such a special club, I can’t wait to start and play at Old Trafford.”
