Marcus Rashford sends message to Lamine Yamal after Fabrizio Romano delivers Barcelona transfer truth

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has sent a message to Barcelona star Lamine Yamal as the truth behind a potential Barcelona transfer has been revealed.

Marcus Rashford left Manchester United on loan in the January transfer window to join Aston Villa after Ruben Amorim decided that he didn’t want to keep the forward.

He started his life at Villa Park in a promising fashion, scoring four goals and registering six assists in 17 appearances, but recently suffered an injury which ended his season early.

The United academy graduate was also linked to Barcelona in January but reports claim that the failed sale of Ansu Fati led to that potential move breaking down.

It was also reported that Rashford’s preferred destination was the Catalan club, and that doesn’t seem to have changed.

After scoring in a 4-3 win over Real Madrid in the El Classico, the 17-year-old starlet Lamine Yamal took to Instagram to celebrate the result which has essentially secured his second La Liga title.

In the comments, Rashford responded with a supportive two-word message, writing: “Young King 💫”.

As mentioned, there have been significant rumours about a potential move to Barcelona for Rashford this summer despite Aston Villa having a £40 million buy-option.

It has been revealed by Fabrizio Romano those at the Camp Nou still believe that the United forward can be an option in the summer window.

The Italian journalist has explained that Barcelona chiefs appreciate the player and think that he can improve the quality of depth in several positions.

United need Rashford situation resolved quickly

It seems clear from the outside that Rashford’s preference is a permanent move abroad to Barcelona but United will hope that things can be resolved quickly.

His mid-season loan move was dragged out until the end of January and the Reds cannot afford for a similar situation in the summer.

The transfer window is crucial for the club and need sales to occur as soon as possible. Rashford’s exit for at least £40 million would probably be the most significant sale due to his homegrown status.

Barcelona aren’t exactly in the strongest financial position either, and some reports from Spain have suggested that they may push for a loan move, which would not benefit United whatsoever.

It would not shock many if a transfer saga began to drag out over the course of the summer, but that is the last thing United need.
